Mission Statement "WDP is an independent, user led Social Enterprise committed to valuing everyone's life skills, experience and individuality to enable positive change. We will actively promote independent living by providing information on peer counselling, housing, equipment, personal assistance, transport, access, employment, education, training and other services." Our Vision "To have achieved recognition as being a leading organisation that initiates, delivers and/or develops services that remove the barriers facing disabled people and their families." Warrington Disability Partnership is a voluntary organisation run predominately by disabled people with the aim of improving the quality of life for disabled people and their families through a range of direct and indirect services. Often, disabled people are prevented from receiving the same quality of service as non-disabled people because of physical and attitudinal barriers. A major part of our service is therefore targeted to assist service providers in providing the best quality service possible to disabled people and their families. Towards this end, we offer access audits, Disability Discrimination Act Awareness training, Disability Equality training and a range of services tailored to meet the needs of the various organisations. We are also able to offer information about the range of adaptations and equipment available to meet the needs of people with a variety of impairments. This includes making information available in different formats for those who have difficulty accessing normal printed materials. In addition to these services, we offer a range of support to individual disabled people in the Warrington area:
Here at WDP we are interested in helping disabled people find out what they can do. |
