Event: Sponsored Swim
Location: Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub (Main Pool) 4pm to 8pm
Details: Calling all swimmers! Would you like to take the plunge and do something enjoyable - and at the same time raise some money for us? If this sounds appealing, why not make a splash for cash at our sponsored swim event at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub where participants will be challenged to swim a total of 64 lengths (one mile) of the swimming pool! However, for those individuals who feel that is a length too far you can still take part and set your own individual challenge. If you would like further details, please contact the fundraising team on 01925 240064 or if you would like to make a donation, please visit our JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/wdpswim2015

9th July 2015

Event: An Evening with Wingates Brass Band
Location: Walton Hall Gardens (Arts Marquee) 7.30pm to 10.30pm
Details: (Event listing first published on 9th October 2014). 2014 is almost over and we’re already busy planning a fantastic calendar of events for 2015. Already expected to be one of our biggest and best events next summer, we are extremely proud to welcome back Wingates Brass Band! For those of you who missed this year’s sensational performance at Walton Hall Gardens, here’s what you need to know about one of the country’s finest contesting brass bands: Formed in 1873 and originally known as Wingates Temperance Band, this multiple award-winning group - currently led by Music Director (and friend of WDP) Paul Andrews - has a long tradition of performing to the highest level both live and in the recording studio. This special event, held once again in our dedicated Arts Marquee at Walton Hall Gardens, promises to be an unforgettable experience in the company of an elite brass band. Listen on in awe as they serve up an easy-listening and eclectic mix of film scores and contemporary tunes – something to suit everyone’s taste in music. The venue - which offers superb acoustics - also boasts free parking (on the park) and a fully licensed bar or, if you prefer, you are more than welcome to bring your own selection of drinks. You are also encouraged to embrace the sunshine and bring your own picnic if you’re planning to arrive early with family and friends – the perfect precursor to the main event! Tickets for this event are already available as it’s widely tipped to be a sell-out! If you’re thinking of buying a Christmas present with a difference for a loved one this year, why not order your ticket before 31st December 2014 and take advantage of our discount offer? Tickets ordered before the New Year will be priced at £8 per person, while those booked after this date will be priced at £10 per person. For more details on this event or to book tickets, please contact our Fundraising Team on 01925 240064.
