Success Stories

We are proud of the service we give to employers. Here is a selection from our many success stories:

Summerville Nursing Centre

I have had a really good experience with the Warrington Disability Partnership. I was involved with Julie Payton - Job Coach, who introduced me to the potential recruits and I was asked to become involved with talking to the new members and doing a presentation/question and answer session to them. I showed them all around my home and then got to finally interview the selected people. So far I have successfully recruited 1 Activities Co-ordinator, and 3 care staff that have all since been an asset to the team. They all work very hard, are reliable and all good time keepers, which is invaluable in the care industry with 24 hour cover required.

All of them had never actually worked in the care industry and have settled in very well, learning new skills and 2 of them have also been put forward to complete their NVQ 2 in Care. 1 of these new members of staff has been able to help a resident to speak again, where other people have failed, which has been appreciated by the family. I would recommend this service to anyone, as I have found it a good effective way of recruiting excellent staff.

Golden Gates Housing

When Golden Gates Housing (GGH) needed to recruit loft insulation workers from the local area they signed up to a Local Employment Partnership (LEP) to help them make this happen. GGH were keen to offer employment opportunities to members of the community who are often at a disadvantage in the employment market. Working in partnership with Warrington Borough Council, Jobcentre Plus and the Warrington Disability Partnership an advertisement campaign and a pre-recruitment training course was developed.

Warrington Disability Partnership fielded all of the enquiries after over 4000 leaflets were posted and this resulted in over 100 applications being received. They then conducted a series of literacy and numeracy tests but more importantly they provided the must needed support and guidance that the applicants required. 14 applicants completed the pre-recruitment training course all of who came away with a unit NVQ level 2 qualification and 10 of the applicants were offered employment with Golden Gates Housing.

“A very important part of this process is the support and advice that the applicants required during the process. WDP were excellent in this by providing advice and guidance during the initial query stages, “Local Employment Partnerships have been a great experience for Golden Gates Housing the calibre and enthusiasm of the applicants has been excellent.” “We wouldn’t have found such good employees if we’d gone along the traditional, skills-focused, advert and application form route, for many people, skills and qualifications are a real barrier. But you can train skills, what really matters is finding people with the right attitude.”
