Two Ticks symbol
Warrington Disability Partnership works closely with Jobcentre Plus in promoting the two ticks symbol and helping local businesses and organisations achieve the quality standard. Achievement of the disability symbol depends upon the demonstration of a commitment to employing people with disabilities. This relates to five areas involving recruitment and retention policies:
- To interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.
- To ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at any time, but at least once a year, with disabled employees what can be done to make sure they can develop and use their abilities.
- To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment.
- To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work.
- To each year, review the 5 commitments and what has been achieved, plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Jobcentre Plus know about progress and future plans.
WDP provides a FREE support package to organisations and businesses to help them become users of the symbol. The process is straightforward and we can provide a simple step by step approach for you.
Many local businesses and organisations have already achieved this standard. Companies, businesses and organisations who the Employment Team has supported in achieving the award include:

- Five Star Cleaning Services Ltd
- Willows Nursery School T/A Kids Academy
