Towards Work Support Fund

This help is funded by Warrington Borough Council's Regeneration Team and is managed by Warrington Disability Partnership

What is the Towards Work Support Fund?
This fund intends to assist disabled people in Warrington who are working towards paid employment as a long-term goal. It aims to provide the same type of support as Access to Work for those who do not qualify for this help, because they are either currently doing, or hope to look for, types of work that do not meet the Access to Work criteria.

The fund is also designed to provide similar measures to those available through the Job Centre Plus Discretionary Fund - again for those for whom statutory funds are not available. It is not designed to replace the funding and support measures already available from Access to Work, Social Services, Health Service, Education, etc

Who is Eligible?
Any disabled person between 16 and 65 years of age who is either currently working their way towards paid employment by working as a volunteer, in work experience, job trails, work placement etc, or who would like assistance to enable them to follow this pathway to the long-term goal of paid work.

Am I a disabled person?
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 states that someone is a disabled person if he or she has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse affect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

What about other sources of funding?
In order to qualify for help from the Towards Work Support Fund, there must be no other help available from other funding bodies such as Access to Work, Social Services, National Health Service, Education, JCP etc
