WDP: Winners of the 2006 Warrington Guardian Business Award for 'Social Responsibility'

The Warrington Business Awards 2006 are according to the Warrington Guardian 'the local business world's equivalent of the Oscars that saw Warrington's top companies recognised in a glittering awards ceremony on Friday 14th July'.

This prestigious local annual event awarded Warrington Disability Partnership as winners of this year's 'Social Responsibility' category as sponsored by Risley based British Nuclear Group.

Dave Thompson, seen here collecting the Award with Vice-Chair Victor Pomfrett and WDP Operations Manager Jayne Horton, says of the night:

"We are very proud to have received the Award. It recognises the fact that as a charity we have developed over the years through the use of sound business ethics and by breaking away from the standard perception of a charity.

Warrington Disability Partnership lead by example through employing disabled people wherever possible, providing opportunities for others to develop through volunteering and by working with the widest range of community organisations to dispel the myths, misconceptions and stigma associated to disability.

This Award for Social Responsibility is accepted on behalf of the hundreds of people who have in the past, and present, played a part in the work we do within the local communities."
