Jessica wins 2006 Wire FM Youth Award for 'Inspiration' 10-12 years

Pictured with Dave Thompson, Chairman of Warrington Disability Partnership, Jessica Lea aged 10 is a recent winner of the Wire FM Youth Award's 2006 for 'Inspiration' in the 10 - 12 age group.

Diagnosed with arthritis at the age of 4, Jessica recently completed the 5 miles Wire FM sponsored PULSE Walk/Push at last month's Disability Awareness Day and raised over £200 for the wheelchair accessible Wizard Narrow Boat Appeal.

Talking about Jessica's achievements Dave Thompson said "Having met Jessica one can not but be inspired by the way she deals with her illness. She has not let it affect her life and enjoys ballet and other activities like any other 10 year old. Jessica deals with medical intervention as a minor issue and considers her main priority of simply wanting to get on with her life."

Jessica has also undertaken other fundraising events over the past year and managed to raise over £2000 for the charity 'Young Arthritis Care'.
