WDP's 'Casino Royale' raises Moneypounds not Moneypennies

On Friday 10th November local charity Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) hosted a gala fundraise 'Casino Royale' at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

With a full evening's entertainment over 100 guests from the local business community, media and the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Linda Dirir and her consort played the Casino to the sounds of the Phil Bailey Jazz Trio and raised over £4000 for WDP's 'Community Build' appeal.

WDP's Fundraiser Jon Menzies said "everybody had a really good night out and we're delighted with the success of the Casino in giving our new appeal such a big boost with the funds raised. This event couldn't have been achieved without the hard work of the WDP team members and we hope to bring an even bigger Casino Royale to Warrington in May 2007."

The 'Community Build' appeal will transform part of the charity's Centre for Independent Living into a new accessible public café, a new Discover IT suite, reception point and Children's Equipment Area. The appeal aims to raise £120,000 to fund this expansion with the work to be completed by March 2007.
