WDP bucket collection for Warrington Wolves 'Vocal-Eyes' system
On August 19th at the next home game of Wolves vs. Catalans, local charity Warrington Disability Partnership will be holding a bucket collection within The Halliwell Jones Stadium to raise money for the Stadium's £2,200 'Vocal-Eyes' system.
Although The Halliwell Jones Stadium offers some of the very best facilities for disabled supporters anywhere in the UK, 'Vocal-Eyes' aims to provide blind and visually impaired spectators with a free loan of a portable radio and headset which can be used anywhere within the stadium.
Supplying a real-time match commentary, these headsets will enable blind and visually impaired supporters to both enjoy the match-day atmosphere of Halliwell Jones Stadium and also follow the game.
Dave Thompson, Chair of the Warrington Disability Partnership and Tommy Summerset, Trustee of the Warrington & Widnes Society for Blind People have been working closely with Bernie Lenihan, Stadium Manager at Wolves, to find the right system.
Bernie Lenihan commented "The ongoing support of WDP, both at the stadium and also within the borough is absolutely first class and we would ask for all fans to please support this extremely worthy cause."
If you would like to make a donation towards the Wolves' 'Vocal-Eyes' system but cannot make the bucket collection then please contact Jon Menzies at WDP on 01925 240064.
