SHADA Conference - Disability, sex, relationships and pleasure

SHADA (Sexual Health and Disability Alliance) is a group of people including individuals and representatives from organisations working in the relationships, sexual health and family planning fields meet and talk about subjects of common interest and discuss new and controversial issues.

SHADA and The Royal Social of Medicine are holding a Conference which taking take place on Friday 13th November 2009 at The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London W1G 0AE. The aim of the Conference is to provide some answers to the questions every Health and Care Professional working with disabled people needs to ask.

Dave Thompson MBE DL (WDP Chair of Trustees) and Jayne Horton (WDP Chief Officer) have been involved in the SHADA Conference planning group and Dave has been asked to be the opening speaker. Dave said “It’s an honour to have been asked to deliver the opening speech at any conference but this one is special. WDP has operated a small project on Relationships Sex and Disability Matters since the early 1990’s and this is national recognition for our commitment to this agenda”.
