Mascot Racing

This weekend Ollie the Owl joined other mascots at Uttoxeter Race course for their annual Mascot Race. This is the first time that Ollie has been invited to run in the race and we are very proud that he came back with the 1st Prize.

Ollie had a long day, firstly meeting all the children who attended the race and joining the other mascots in the parade ground. Once the parade was finished all mascots where taken to the starting post where they waited for a tense minute before the starting pistol was shot. Once the race was off Ollie put all his efforts into running as fast as he could being chased every step of the way by Boomer the Hound from Port Vale FC. Ollie managed to stay ahead and took the 1st Prize cheered on by our Chief Officer Jayne Horton and other members of the WDP team.

Ollie collected his 1st Prize from the Managing Director of Uttoxeter Race Course.
All in all the day turned out to be a great success and Ollie has made all the team at WDP very proud.
