Get on Line event was a roaring success.

Warrington Disability Partnership held their first ‘Get Online’ Open day on 23rd October, 2009 to showcase what the UK Online Centres offer. The event was opened by Pete Pinnington from Wire FM and Ollie was there to offer help and advice when needed as were all the WDP IT facilitators.

WDP got lots of new users who all enjoyed ‘Getting on Line’ at the event; even Ollie the Owl had a go!

One new recruit said that ‘The internet isn’t as scary as I thought; if I sign up for a class can I learn to do my Christmas shopping on line’. The answer was ‘Yes’, as a UK Online Centre we can help her save money and time, leaving Saturdays free for fun!
This was the third UK annual Get Online day and there were over 700 events that took place around the UK during October. UK Online is for all learners from those who only know the basics of using computers and the internet to those who have some knowledge and want to know more.

Maria McPartland, IT Facilitator said “WDP are proud of the work that the Discover IT suite does and the place they have in the UK Online Centre team; so please give us a call for any help you think you need and ‘Get on Line’.”
