Warrington Disability Partnership wins national Avanta Award

Warrington Disability Partnership has recently been named Partner of the Year at the national Avanta Awards 2009. The award was presented by Helen Jones - MP to Derek Jones – Employment Team Co-ordinator and Jane Pendlebury – Senior Employment Advisor at a ceremony at the House of Commons.

The Avanta Awards recognise individuals, and the organisations that work with them, that have overcome personal, educational or health-related barriers to excel in their move from benefits into employment or entrepreneurship.

Warrington Disability Partnership, based in Festival Avenue, Orford, was recognised for its work with TNG, part of Avanta, in delivering the ‘Pathways to Work’ programme in Cheshire and Warrington. ‘Pathways to Work’ provides a package of support to help people with health conditions and disabilities to have the best chance of returning to the jobs market and realise their workplace potential.

Many people who use our services are vulnerable, lacking in confidence and some have health problems.
