Latest Amendments to the Equality Bill
Employers would be banned from asking for health and disability information prior to making a job offer, if the Government accepts the latest amendments to its Equality Bill following its third and final reading in the House of Lords.
If the amendment becomes law, employers would no longer be able to ‘screen’ job applications in order to avoid interviewing disabled people. The Bill will now return to the House of Commons where MPs will consider a range of amendments introduced by the Upper House. Visit: http://www.equalities.gov.uk
