Direct Payments

A Direct Payment is money the council can give you, to enable you to set up and control the services you choose to meet your needs. At WDP we have a team who can help you access and manage personal budgets, recruit personal assistants and process payroll services.

Our helpful team

Our Independent Living Team is one of the most experienced around; with a combined total of over 50 years’ experience delivering information, advice and guidance on Direct Payments for clients across Warrington. You can meet the team here. We are currently supporting nearly 400 people and families to use Direct Payments and over 700 staff that they employ.

Our independent living advisors are an independent team who can tell you about and support you with:

  • direct payments, including how you manage your money.
  • Independent living advisors can give you practical support with:
  • planning how you will spend your direct payment
  • advertising, recruiting and employing your own staff, if that is the option you choose
  • filling in the forms and paperwork

We offer a trusted high quality person-centred service that is genuinely focussed on your needs. So from the very first idea about setting up your Direct Payments to highly responsive one to one, day to day, support and learn more about our hugely popular Payroll services.
