Market Infopoint

In partnership with Warrington Borough Council and the Warrington Market Traders Association we operate an award-winning community Disability Information Point situated in the rear hall of Warrington Market. The Disability Information Point provides Free information and advice directly to the public on a wide range of disability related issues, in an easily accessible setting in the centre of Warrington.

The Disability Information Point was opened by Helen Southworth MP and has been visited by Marie Eagle when she was the Minister for Disabled People, Paul Boatang MP and leading Government Minister Jack Straw, as well as guests from across the UK and Europe. This innovative project has received a national award from BT (Getting The Message Across Awards) and a Leonard Cheshire Enabled Award.

The market stall is open Monday to Saturday (10am to 4pm). It is run by a team of staff and volunteers. A benefits advisor is available - by appointment. We also have an Employment Team who can see clients - by appointment, to give advice and guidance on employment training and education.

A small range of items can also be purchased from the stall e.g. RADAR keys, Blue Badge holders. Other items of equipment can be purchased or ordered from our main Centre for Independent Living Equipment Showroom at Beaufort street Warrington for collection at the Disability information point. We have information on a wide range of independent living services including Equipment, Shopmobility, Employment, Direct payments, Local support services, Groups and Clubs, Holidays, Sports, Access, Transport etc. We can also answer your enquiries using our internet access.

Community notice boards and display areas located adjacent to stall and around the market. The Shopmobility satellite scheme operates six days a week (10am to 3.45pm) from the market stall - 6 Electric Scooters, Electric and manual wheelchairs are also available for hire. In addition to the above the Disability Information Point supports our Fundraising Team running several events in the market throughout the year; in particular a Christmas Tombola and Santa's Grotto.
