Warrington Disability Partnership

Do you want to be a Record Breaker?

If so, then 'dedication' (and an Electric Mobility Scooter) is what you need!

On Saturday 4th June, WDP along with Golden Square shopping centre, will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Parade of Electric Mobility Scooters in the world. We are looking for as many people as possible to bring their scooters to Golden Square and become involved in what could potentially be a new World Record.

Currently, the largest parade of electric mobility scooters consisted of 159 participants and their scooters and took place on the 9th June 2012 in Victoriaville, Canada.

Golden Square’s Centre Manager, Ian Cox, says, "A World Record-breaking scooter rally is an incredibly fun challenge, which everyone at Golden Square is looking forward to and delighted to be supporting. We’ll be doing what we can to ensure that Warrington Disability Partnership gets its name in the record book, and have every confidence in the team's success. It’s going to be a fantastic day and we’d encourage everyone to sign up to take part and be part of a brilliant occasion."

The rally is scheduled to start at 6pm and will begin outside Debenhams, Warrington and then will continue on a two mile course around the centre.

During the day, we will be officially launching the ‘WDP Scooter Safe campaign’ within the Old Market place, to promote the safe use of mobility scooters. Experts will be on hand to offer advice and support around using a mobility scooter, as well as specialised training. People will also be able to register for the rally. , which will start at 6pm.

So, if you, your relatives, friends or colleagues use a mobility scooter, we would love for you to become involved (fancy dress is optional). For further details and to register, please contact the team on 01925 240064 or 07729 302412.
WPD is Golden Square’s charity of the year, and this is one of a number of events and initiatives that they are supporting during 2016.
