Warrington Disability Partnership

Disability Awareness Day 2018

The countdown begins, with only a few days to go until the big day.

Wow, only a week to go until the 27th Disability awareness day at Walton Gardens, our one-off event back in 1991 has turned into the worlds largest voluntary led pan disability event, which wouldn't be possible without the continued support and encouragement year after year from our visitors, exhibitors, sponsors, supporters and of course DAD's Army of volunteers.

The event itself has more than 250 exhibitors, in marquees and outdoor stalls, promoting independent living and the theme of a ‘can do’ culture, focusing on what 'disabled people can do' and dispelling the myths about what disabled people can't do. The event has something for everyone to get involved in and something for the whole family to enjoy in our Sports Zone, Arts Marquee, Main Arena.

On the week leading up to disability awareness day we have lots of activities on, starting on the 10th July with Frogtastic in the park, July 11th ignite your life (free event) and the Ella Summertime Special (adult tickets £8/child tickets £5, 12th July warrington together (invite only), Children's party in the park (free event) and An evening of cultural diversity (free event) and 13th July DAD Mega Quiz (tickets £8). Tickets are available to buy by calling us on 01925 240064 or visiting our disability awareness day website.

We would like to thank Warrington Borough Council for the continuing use of Walton Hall and Gardens, all of our sponsors and supporters for their financial and in-kind contributions, our management team for their continuing hard work, WDP Trustees for continuing to share and support the DAD dream, our volunteers, our exhibitors and of course you, our visitors.

We hope you can join us for Disability Awareness Day 2018 and make this year the best year yet!
