Do you enjoy working with numbers? WDP are offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for someone wishing to learn or develop their skills in Finance and Payroll services, at the same time as gaining a recognised qualification in Accounting & Finance.

Summary:
The role will be working with our Finance and Payroll teams to develop skills in financial management, efficient administration and working with internal financial procedures and processes. This will include assisting the team in the production of an efficient payroll service for external agencies and Direct Payments clients.

Annual wage: £12,313.60 a year *standard apprenticeship rates apply*
The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.

Training course: Accounts or finance assistant (level 2)

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am- 5pm 37 hours a week

Possible start date: Monday 9 September

Work:
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:
* Processing of incoming invoices for payment in accordance with specific project requirements and WDP Financial Procedures
* Monitoring payments received in accordance with specific project requirements and WDP Financial Procedures
* Administration of four weekly and monthly payroll services on behalf of Direct Payment clients and external agencies, using a Sage payroll software package
*  Assist the Head of Finances with day-to-day monitoring of income and expenditure against allocated budgets and producing a monthly report for the management team, using the SAGE accounts system
*  Assist with producing relevant specific financial information for the management  team of  WDP as part of the monitoring process in respect of funding processes when requested (to be implemented when Sage is up and running)
* Monitoring day-to-day income and expenditure against allocated budgets

Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
College or training organisation. TOTAL PEOPLE LIMITED.

Your training course:Accounts or finance assistant (level 2) Equal to GCSE

Course contents:
* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up dat
