Current Sporting Sessions

Our Leisure Recreation and Sports (LRS) Team offer a number of sessions and information on local services including leisure centres, youth clubs, sports clubs, coaching and will be happy to visit local sports clubs to give advice on meeting the needs of disabled people.

Disability Inclusion Sports Club (DISC)

DISC is a sports club for disabled children and young disabled people aged 10-18 years old. The club meet at Evelyn Street Primary School every Wednesday 6.30pm-8:30pm. Activities include Football, Wheelchair Basketball, New Age Kurling and Bowling once a month at LA Bowl. DISC welcomes any young person aged 10-18 years old to come along to the session and take part in the events. Wolf Club

Wolf Club is a youth specifically for disabled young people age 12 – 18 years. Wolf Club is run every Thursday 6:30pm - 8:30pm at Woolston 6th Form within the Learning Village. Wolf Club is aimed at disabled young people and provides a friendly environment where the children can socialise and make new friends. Activities at Wolf Club include: cooking, football, yoga, martial arts and many more. All of the children participate in 1st activity of their choice first followed by a short break and then a 2nd activity of their choice. Future Sporting Sessions

Adults DISC (Disability Inclusion Sports Club)- We are looking to develop a similar club to the kids DISC session but for young disabled adults aged 18+. The session will involve a variety of sports, breaking down each sport into the basic skills then playing matches. Volunteering Opportunities

There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with WDP’s Children and Young People LRS Team: you can coach or assist in session delivery.
