Shopmobility Warrington

This service helps people with limited mobility, both temporary and permanent, enabling them to experience greater freedom and independence. Shopping, socialising and/or just travelling to appointments in Warrington town centre. Our fleet of over 50 mobility scooters, manual and electric wheelchairs are available from our offices located at:

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am till 4.30pm.

Located within the Legh Street Car Park, dedicated parking spaces for Blue Badge Holders are located adjacent to the entrance hall which also contains two standard wheelchair accessible toilets and one Changing Places Toilet. A drop off point for Dial-a-ride and taxis is available at the rear of Shopmobility.

Membership and Charges

There are two types of membership. To join you will need to bring two forms of identification, one of which MUST contain your name and address, to register.

Annual Membership Charges are as follows:

  • Annual Membership Fee - £20
  • Daily rate for a scooter or wheelchair - £2.00

Temporary Membership Charges are as follows:

  • Daily rate for a scooter or wheelchair - £5

Are they easy to drive?
Our scooters and electric wheelchairs are relatively simple to operate. You will be given full instructions on how to use them before you leave the premises.

Are there any restrictions?

  • Use of the service is subject to registration together with sight of two forms of identification.
  • A strict weight limit of 35 stone applies to the use of all equipment.
  • Our code of conduct must be adhered.

All customers will be given instruction in the safe use of equipment and must demonstrate their competence to use such equipment. Warrington Disability Partnership reserves the right to decline the hire of equipment or to request evidence from a general practitioner (GP), optician or other qualified assessor about a customer's ability to operate mobility equipment safely.

Where can I go?
You can use the equipment anywhere within the Town Centre, as a guide, from the Riverside Retail Park to Halliwell Jones Stadium. Bank Quay Railway Station to Sainsbury’s Manchester Road. Please use the paved areas whenever possible. Scooters must not be used on the roads other than to cross from one side to the other.

Where do I park it when I’m out and about?
You may park the scooter safely outside the places you want to visit - shops or restaurant/cafe etc. taking care not to obstruct others. You must also take the key with you.

What else is available at Shopmobility?
Our innovative Mobility Equipment Recycling Scheme is located at Shopmobility. Donated equipment, once restored, is used in our Shopmobility fleet and Independent Living Equipment Rental Service. Surplus goods are sold on at affordable prices. Recycled equipment includes electric mobility scooters and wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, crutches, wheeled and framed walkers.
