Warrington Disability Partnership

Phoenix Project

The project was launched in 2016 bringing together our expertise in recycling used mobiity aids and our knowledge around the needs of disabled people, together with the overseas connections of St Mark Universal Copts Care.

St Mark operates a number of successful projects offering health and social care in Egypt and Sudan through their close work with the Coptic Christan Church networks. By extending our well established recycling scheme we co-ordinate the collection of used mobility independant living equipment which we refurbish and ship to St Mark's approved projects.

In addition to providing equipment the Phoneix Project has provided jobs and volunteering opportunities for local disabled people here in Warrington.

The Project is run from a large unit in the Gateworth Industrial Estate and has so far collected over 10,000 pieces of equipment, approximately half have been refurbished with approximately 500,000 worth of equipment has been shipped to Egypt, Thailand, Syria and Syrian refugees in Greece through our partners including St Mark Universal Copts Care, Care UK Charity and One Step Two Step.
