About Ellen Houghton:
Ellen has been a volunteer at WDP since 2013 (age 12). At the age of 15 she was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer which resulted in mobility difficulties. Due to difficulties during Ellen's treatment, she realised areas she wanted to improve and has chosen to progress through college, studying health and social care where she can utilise this education supporting and improving services in the future. In 2019, Ellen stepped up to the role of chairperson in WDP's first young person's disabled forum and has worked towards this position of the first Young trustee for WDP. Ellen is paving the way reaching new milestone's with aspirations to support and guide other young people on their journey's. Ellen was co-opted to the WDP Board in 2020.
