About Derek Jones:
Derek uses his previous work experience as a teacher, trainer, consultant and contract manager to develop services within the organisation. His role is to support our Chief Executive with strategic and operational matters, act as a line manager and to lead WDP's Contract Management and in particular with work Programme, Adult Community Learning, our Independent Living Team and Shopmobility service. He also supports our community engagement and fundraising activities as often as he can. He is responsible for the welfare of our staff and volunteers and he has management responsibility for some of our contracts relating to service delivery. He has been a proud DAD steward for 10years and organises our annual DAD schools event. Derek believes in shared responsibility and encourages our teams to put their clients at the heart of their work. In his spare time he is a sports broadcaster for the BBC
