This course is designed to increase understanding of recruiting and retaining disabled people. Ideally suited to staff working in personnel / human resources and anyone responsible for managing staff. Topics covered include:

  • Understanding the support available, including ‘Access to Work’ funding,
  • Recruiting disabled people
  • Retaining a member of staff who acquires a disabled
  • Definition of ‘disability’, social and medical models
  • Barriers faced by disabled people
  • Language and terminology
  • Inclusive access and facilities
  • Disability – the law
  • Disability confident
