This course is designed to increase understanding of recruiting and retaining disabled people. Ideally suited to staff working in personnel / human resources and anyone responsible for managing staff. Topics covered include:
- Understanding the support available, including ‘Access to Work’ funding,
- Recruiting disabled people
- Retaining a member of staff who acquires a disabled
- Definition of ‘disability’, social and medical models
- Barriers faced by disabled people
- Language and terminology
- Inclusive access and facilities
- Disability – the law
- Disability confident
