The Equality Act 2010 and United Nations (UN) Convention

The Equality Act 2010 protects disabled people from discrimination. It provides legal rights in the areas of:

  • employment
  • education
  • access to goods, services and facilities
  • buying and renting land or property

The Equality Act 2010 also protects the rights of people associated with a disabled person, e.g. a carer or parent. Get more information about the Equality Act 2010 from The Government Equalities Office.

United Nations (UN) Convention on disability rights
