Access AuditsWarrington Disability Partnership has long been established as one of the leading disability organisations in Cheshire and surrounding areas. We give practical help and advice on many disability related subjects. We have a dedicated accessibility access audit team who through many years of experience and training are now leading the way in accessibility audits into many different types of environments and structures. In recent years our access team has worked closely with some major organisations such as
We offer a complete and concise access audit that can be tailored to suit the needs of our clients. We not only give help and advice on things such as door widths and ramps ect, we also give practical advice on things like parking, signage, induction loop facilities (for persons who may have a hearing impairment) different types of seating, we can also provide disability awareness training for persons who may be in a first point of contact situation i.e. a reception area. We offer the above services in two ways, we can audit premises in what we call a walk and talk audit. This is exactly what it is, we will take a journey through your building and point out where there may be any problem areas and offer practical solutions to them. We can also conduct a complete and concise access audit from the parking of a car, approaches to buildings, entrances and doors, reception areas, vertical and horizontal movement through the building, toilets ect, this information is then compiled into a report with photographic details, and recommendation for improvements we feel should be made. We also provide detailed fact sheets of the sizes of car parking bays, toilets, door widths, and counter heights and, a comprehensive written report. Revenue that is generated from access audit work is a large part of our income that helps us to maintain our services. Our charging polices for commercial access work is very competitive in today's marketplace; however, we only charge a minimal fee for charitable organisations, such as churches, youth clubs ect. NOTE our access audit team are NOT building surveyors, structural engineers, or quantity surveyors. The advice and recommendations that would be given are based on the current Building Regulations listed below. Reports are also prepared with reference to a view of the current "good practice" which is subject to change as new legislative case law is defined. Therefore it is up to the clients that we are working with to engage their own Building Surveyor or, Building Contactor to carry out any work that may be recommend in our reports. We have to remain impartial and we do not make recommendations of Building Contractors ect. Warrington Disability Partnership strongly recommend that any work that may be commissioned based on recommendations contained within our report should be based on information available in guidance notes of Building Regulations Part M (access and facilities), Building Regulations Part B (safe evacuation) and British Standards 8300.
